Something else we gave to the world and now they are better than us at it! </p> </p> Seriously though this thing in Italy looks bad - my mate went to Milan in the summer and he said there was a part of the ground that no one was in with about five minutes to go - he was told that was because it was were the ultra's go. Sure enough they all turned up on mass - it was them that controlled the crowds not a steward in site. </p> </p> One good thing that came about after hillsbrough was that the grounds do feel a lot safer in this country. It is still around but has been driven away from the grounds - I feel able to take my kids to watch football now. </p> </p>
True very rare get any serious crowd trouble at the grounds in england bit of coin throwing really as far as it goes. italy is just a mad place though, football in italy is awful empty stadiums half the time, match fixing, violence. Makes you proud of what we got, although not the national team mind. They are the world champions
Reading an article about Ajax in the times the other day - their games against rotterdam are pretty bad. I've rarely felt threatened at matches - Leeds , Newcastle , Man city and wolves games have had their moments but all in all not too bad. I've never gone looking for it either to be honest and stay out of the way
RE: Reading an article about Ajax Bloody Dutch! Anyway.............. whose that cute looking thing with the hazel eyes in your avatar old bean?
I sit corrected! Mind you, I notice from the title of the dictionary, you're on advanced, I'm just a learner when it comes to pedantry.
I did think he had me at first But then I was fairly sure both were valid. I'd just typed having read "stadiums" in the previous post.
All i'll say to that is.... been to Milano three times in last 18 months to watch Inter, first time in one of quiet side stands and next two times in Curva Nord on 2nd tier with the Interista(Ultras) Felt safer and more welcome in there than if i'd gone to watch West Ham or Chelsea i'm sure. Everyone knew we were English, nobody was bothered, there was wifes, girlfriends and a few young un's in there as well.Safe as houses All this in press about families and females don't attend games is certainley not the case in Milan. Question, what has a riot OUTSIDE a football ground involving BANNED football fans who were not at the game and the death of a police officer got to do with all games getting suspended and the two Milan clubs possibly having to play behind closed doors? More like a social issue for Catania
