but I've copied his report from tonight's match cos it is spot on. Good afternoon/eve in Scarborough. Seemed like most of the "200-300 Barnsley crowd had been on the lash all day and the announcer was quality.
Scarborough game Line up: Flinders Tonge, Reid, Vaughan, Austin Shuker, Burns, Wroe, Williams (R) Hayes, Nardiello Reasonable game for an early friendly. Reds created quite a few chances. Boro on the back foot quite a lot. Midfield passing quite decent. First Half: Chances for Wroe (saved), Burns (near miss) early on. After around 20 mins Robbie Williams got his head on the end of a Burns corner. Generally in control, apart from a couple of slip ups notably by Vaughan. Nardiello missed a fairly good chance after a great ball over top (Shukes i think)then Burns through to Nads who had his shot well saved. Hayes showed some nice touches up front and seems to be gelling with Nads ok. Shuker almost scored after knock through by Nads. Then Hayes cross five mins before half time was headed in by Nardiello for a well deserved goal. Second Half: Nads had another shot well saved by Boro keeper. Reds had total control of game. Just the odd mishap ie between Vaughan n Flinders. Bazza Conlon came on for last half hour and almost scored twice in a minute with cracking headers well saved. Another chance for Baz and for Shukes later on but the game fizzled out as the Reds made many subs. Young Harban got caught a couple of times at right back possibly due to experience, Austin grafted but looked uncomfortable at times on the left and Reid doesnt convince me in defence. So defence definately needs some work! SUBS: McPhail for Wroe, Kay for Burns, Bazza for Hayes, Harban for Tonge, Colgan for Flinders, Jarman for Nads, Joynes for Williams and Atkinson (i think) for Reid. Replies:
