I realised this a while back 2002 - my mum died in January, Barnsley relegated from this division 2008 - my dad died in February...............
Sorry for your loss, but there are many bigger reasons for us going down 1. Key injuries; 2. Not enough £££ for loan signings... Steele has been vital, but if we still had Muller then we would've had £££ to loan a central midfielder and we'd have relied less on Hassell/Togwell; 3. FA Cup distraction... players lifting themselves for these games and dropping to the level of the opposition in most other matches... Howard cynically avoiding play in one match to avoid his 5th yellow card (at least he admitted it in the post-match interview); 4. Not addressing obvious lack of confidence especially in forwards... I now avoid the official website for fear of seeing lip-service paid to "it's a must-win game" and "we're fully confident" cos it drives me mad (banghead) 5. Useless forwards... with the exception of Macken, we've had strikers underperforming far too often. They seem to have no understanding of what to do. 6. Boo boys in crowds... thanks for helping our team to play better (wnkr) 7. Tactical blunders... Davey has been very astute in setting the team up for some key matches (e.g. last 2 FA Cup matches)... but he's not got the best out of the team in far too many matches (e.g. most local derbies).
Agreed personal circumstances have nothing to do with the outcome! Sorry to hear about your loss though eaststander.
That's ok Been through all that already....but thanks. Can't be doing with another double like last time though!
