Will be England's version of the Colchester goal that drove us to really turn on the heat and gain promotion.

It could definitely have that effect as long as the players keep remembering their performance and not the performance of their inept manager.

Am I the only person that thinks it was a pretty poor performance against the worst team I've seen at the euros so far and we'll struggle to get another point based on that wales slovakia game? Awful tactics uninterested players and players that shouldn't have been on the pitch.

Rooney and Dier probably the only exceptions.

The tactics were woeful but I don't think the players were uninterested. I thought we looked decent.

I do agree with you about Russia being poor though. Before the tournament, I predicted them to finish bottom of our group so that taken into consideration, two points were definitely dropped last night. They showed they aren't a great side but do fancy them getting more than the point they got against us last night in their next two games.

Also agree certain players shouldn't have been on the pitch. Totally agreed with the back five but the decisions in midfield were horrendous. How Wilshere was ever chosen to be in the squad, never mind coming on for our best player last night was the worst decision. Lallana, despite being good in the first half last night, isn't first XI capable and Sterling should have been brought off after that awful 10 minutes of shitness at the start of the second half.

Hodgson showed ineptness last night and it makes you think if he goes with those same decisions against better sides in Wales and Slovakia, what's gonna happen this time next Monday when the groups have been finalised.

I thought we played very well, our problem with playing one up and three behind supporting........... is that Lalana and Sterling arnt great finishers (as proved again last night) so we rely on Rooney to support Kane.
Personally I would drop Sterling maybe bring in Sturridge

The facts are we had several gilt edged chances and the strikers on the pitch were woful, it took a set peice and a defender to score. Russia had 2 attempts on goal and scored one. The opposition will see that they will score EASILY in future games given the chance.
Sturridge and Vardy should play next with no exception especially as Vardy has had good record against home style defenders

I'm going to get slated for saying this by some people, but I think we really missed Welbeck.

As I said on here after the match......no end product = poor performance
Although the general opinion last night was that we played well

Anyone else get absolutely no joy from watching England any more? I used to get more excited for England games than Barnsley in the 90's, just does nothing for me now.
