Hello all. This is my first post here, I'm looking for Barnsley supporters opinion on my proposal for next season. I have been a Mansfield Town supporter since 1994. There has been alot happening at Mansfield in the last couple of years. There has been alot of off-field problems with our chairman and with fans boycotting matches because of him. I have been unable to have a season ticket for a couple of seasons because of work and family commitments, but it seems though I will be able to have one next season. Problem is I don't wish to put any more of my hard earned money into the pocket of our crooked chairman. So having been to a few matches at Oakwell lately the plan was to obtain a season ticket for Barnsley. Hopefully I will be accepted by you and will have an enjoyable time if i do decide to buy one. The reason I chose Barnsley is because I live in Worksop and have been to Oakwell on a few occasions and shown my support and have enoyed my days out. Plus Barnsley is close enough for me to travel and too far away to be a 'rival' of Mansfield Town. So anyway, I hope to see you all next season, if not before at the last two home games at Oakwell this season.
having been to a few matches at Oakwell lately the plan was to obtain a season ticket for Barnsley</p> You Sure Thats Right Decision </p>
Thank you all. I've had nothing but positive reaction from Barnsley fans which I think is fantastic. I know it must seem like I'm an intruder but i promise you its not like that. I love football and if my support helps Barnsley FC stay in the Championship where they (in my opinion) belong then I'm happy. Plus I'm not lining the pockets of Mansfield Towns greedy chairman.
Welcome to Oakwell. If you want promotion, relegation, administration, £10million loans, t'gates locking forever, re-painted houses, box-office signings, knee-jerk sackings, hope of staying up, no hope of staying up, hope of staying up, no hope of staying up, then you're in the right place.
Welcome! You must be as bloody mad as the rest of us - but if you want to come along for the bumpy ride then please, you're a more than welcome! Claire
Depends how you define 'enjoyable time' mate. You'll have a good laugh with the fans. Sadly, you'll also have a good laugh at the team and the sheer amateurism of the club. Still, you get used to it. Eventually. Probably.
Well, yer must be bloody mad if you're actually tekking up watching us. (seestars) </p> But you are most certainly welcome.</p>
Well like I said before thank you all for accepting me. I understand it'll be a bumpy ride following the Tykes but thats just what I've been used to the last 13 years following Mansfield. I don't like to watch a team who are always at the top, a team who have loads of money and take the meaning out of football, I like good honest REAL football teams like Barnsley. I don't have no interest in the Premiership at the minute. So I understand that the season will be up and down but thats what I love.
Welcome to the Mad House matey. Dont take anything too personal and you wont find it too bad here. There are some real numpties that post on here , me included.
Been chased all over the place at mansfield, some of your fans are right nut jobs.</p> But if you are daft enough to choose to watch us, instead of being <strike>forced</strike> born into it, then good luck. You'll need it. </p>
