First question...

Why did you tell us you were definitely staying after the Man United game and then proceed to join our arch rivals? :D

He fully intended to stay and that's why he said after the man utd game that he was going to. It was only after that that he learned his best players were to be sold off by the board and that he'd have very little money to rebuild.

Or thats what redders told me anyway

    Fair enough, for the record

I don't blame him for going or have anything against him.

The best players werent to be sold off. He went purely for for personal gain. If you recall, most of ther players were still here after the season in the premier, and the incoming manager, John Hendrie was given substantial backing by the board. Im alright Jack was the order of the day for Danny boy !!

He was offered a position at a club for more money at a club in the Premier league

... with whom he already had a strong bond. I don't blame him for taking it, I just wish he hadn't banged on with the 'loyalty' bit.

Also there have been three outstanding seasons that I remember where it was an absolute pleasure to go to Oakwell 80/81 and 81/82 under Hunter and surpassing that slightly 96/97 when it really was 'like watching Brazil'. Thanks for the memories Danny.
