Anyone know of a reasonable hotel in Newcastle city centre? Under £100. One night - April 8th Checked last night on Lastminute.com and found Holiday Inn Express for £90, went to book this morning and it's now showing at £150! FFS it's only Newcastle, I've had cheaper in New York! Also train tickets - checked the trainline and it was quoting me £89 return going on Sat and coming back Sun! The site wasn't very clear whether that was the total for 2 people or each. If it's for both of us then I guess it's reasonable but does anyone know any sites for discounted tickets? At this rate getting to the gig will cost more than the gig itself!
Try the Thistle Hotel. It will be about a ton. It's not the nicest but it's only about a minute and a half's walk to the Academy.
try a hotel called the corner house at heaton which is a 2 minute drive from newcastle town centre it is fully en suite and has just had a refurb it is a realy nice place run by my relations
also it is £35 return with virgin trains also it is a 10 min walk from the corner house to the town centre i go up there all the time as i have alot of relations up there
Cheers, I'll check it out....though as I don't know Newcastle and we are going on the train then the Thistle sounds good. 2 mins drive - whats that for walking or is it close toa Metro station? Do you know the street it's on?
Cheers Wayne Checked that - the booking system is the same as train line. Didn't give us cheap singles....though did find that the £89 was the total cost for 2 returns so feel better about that.
Ta I'll have a look. Didn't mention but we want to travel from Donny, as ar lasses lad will be staying at his dads for weekend and he lives in Donny so easier to drop him off and then go to the station.
hi it on heaton road and it is about 10 min walk from town about £4 in a taxi the number for it is 01912659602
www.jurysdoyle.com
jurys inn, clean and about 5 minutes walk from the town centre - the train station is mid-way on the walk in... usually about £50 or £60 for the night...

Thanks for that Linz - I did come across that before but they didn't have any availability when we wanted it - looks nice though. How was Thailand by the way?
it was very nice and hot and relaxing and interesting and different and about everything you'd want from a holiday really!
Train tickets to Toon... It's only about £40 for an open return so that's not true! Go on www.thetrainline.com mate.
No idea how much it costs but The Vermont is a great place - next to the Castle and just up from the quayside. (Had a weekend there but it was about 7 years ago)
