I've never rented as a non-student off a proper landlord before... what's the minimum contract length that folk will normally give out for a 'professional'?

    Anyone got any idea?

    RE: Usually 6 months

Hiya mate, I am renting through an estate agent and have been since december.

My initial contract was 6 months but after that you or the landlord just need to give an agreed period of notice.

    Hope that helps

Thanks mate, are you renting alone?

I'm wondering how much it might cost me in Leeds.

be careful also. there are some scumbag landlords who after taking the bond will find an excuse after inspection when you leave not to re-pay. they will find some trivial damage and thus an excuse to keep the bond.
