I want to scream at this board sometimes. We winge more than Wednesday fans. Davey and Shephard are being accused of wasting money. Davey spent £200k on KO. To put that in to persepective that is 1/7th of Georgi Hristov and Mike Sheron. Ok £400k on a 29 year old Peruvian I accept, but that is because we are shopping around in the bargain basement of players. We paid £250,000 for John Hendrie who was 31 back in 1996 - that was 12 years ago!! Everyone says we have spent loads of money. Relative to our last 5 years we have, but not relative to this league. Our wages are low and we have got bargains - Steve Foster £100k, Souza free, Muller. If we sold Muller alone it would cover the entire seasons outgoings. To get a striker at this level who will score goals you need to spend £800k upwards. Top scorers in this division - Phillips £700k for a 32 year old, Ebanks-Blake £1.5m, Beattie £4m. We've had to take risks on Mossto and KO. It might not have worked out but to say we have wasted money is laughable.
They have not worked out... ha ha Therefore: WASTE OF MONEY. For the £750k spent on Mostto, KO and KC, we could have had one decent player.
Surely if they haven't worked out then ... ... the money has be wasted in those particular instances. Not saying all SD's signings have been bad (far from it) but he's not covered himself in glory on the striking front (Macken excepted)
RE: And if that one player had broken his leg on his debut? nt We would have signed a replacement , whats your point?</p>
No we wouldn't because we would have spent all the money!!! The money isn't limitless and that IS the point. We have less than others so we have had to gamble on League One players
