BARNSLEY could be forced to sell Brian Howard on the cheap after failing to meet his wage demands. Howard, 25, is now in the final 12 months of his current deal and wants a new £10,000-a-week contract. But that would break the club's wage structure and the Tykes may have to sell to the highest bidder. Owner Patrick Cryne had slapped a £10million price tag on Howard but the Barnsley Captain accused Cryne of pricing him our of a move. Bolton are standing by with a £2million bid but Everton and Wigan are also Interested.
We need to get this sorted. He is either going or staying. Could end up disrupting our pre-season. We might miss out on other players while waiting to see whether Howard is gonna stay or if we have got extra cash to spend. I am still hoping he signs a new contract with a price clause of £2m. He has always got a get out then.
Ten grand a week Just think of some of the vitriol that was spewing out onto this board the other day because the Shell petrol tanker drivers wanted £750 a week!

Sell Him!!! £10,000 for a player who had 2 good months last season is totally out of the question. I loved it when he said, give me a contract I'm worthy of. £20 should do it. He's not even our best player, infact not even our best midfielder. He's very replaceable. And before anyone say's how you gunna replace a 14 goal a season midfielder??? If you take the penalties away, how many was it? 6?
