Soft lad - Did San Diego to Manchester last month. Up for flight home 5:30am Friday their time (GMT -8hrs) and landed Saturday in Manchester 8am (GMT). Finally crashed out 10:30pm Sat night, even made it to the match. Total 49hrs without sleep. Then up with the alarm clock (Kids) on Sunday at 7:30am. Jet Lags for puff-ters
When I got back from Aus, 3 o clock in the morning our time wide awake then in the day I was shattered, really hard to shake off.
I did LA to Heathrow not long back.......... But we'd flown into LA from Auckland, zoomed down Santa Monica for dinner then back to LAX and nearly missed flight. That was hard work.
Going West to East is always the worst way... Done it many times and it always hits me hard for about 3-4 days
Agreed Remember going to visit my sister in Sydney. Now I'm sure after 30+ hours of travel without much sleep, a night on the beers was probably not my best move, but I got thru, and had a sleep. Same thing day after ... meals, drinks, sleep - I thought I was laughing ..... then about day 4 of the trip I morphed into a jibbering weeping wreck. Never known anything like it. I just couldn't do anything & kept bursting into tears. Bizzare.
HadJet Lag when we arrived in Bangkok. Had no idea what it was until later. Awful. Felt as if I was walking on sponges, no balance, swaying from side to side, as sick as a parrot and had to be supported. Five hours later, after a good sleep, I was back to normal and ok. Not a nice experience.
Travelling East to West 45 minute flight from Amsterdam to Sheffield (yes, Sheffield)... about a week later - sickness, loss of balance, inability to sleep. Doctor said I had Vertigo, brought about by change in cabin pressure on a small plane. Took me 6 months to get rid of it. Worst thing was, of all the things to come back from Amsterdam with!!!
RE: Travelling East to West I had that last time I came back from Amsterdam as well. Then again I'd had 17 E's, a mountain of Ganja and shagged 8 hoors so I guess I deserved it. Took me about 3 days to get rid of it. Fresh as a daisy then. 6 months? What were you on?
I'm flying Seoul-Munich-Heathrow in 6 weeks.. Didn't get jet lag last time, but that was West to East and overnight, so I just slept for the most part. Landed 5pm, dicked about a bit, and went to bed 10pm. No jet lag!
Tell me about it. Flew back to Calgary yesterday having left Barnsley early in the morning (timed the flight to be able to take in the Blunts game, naturally) - 20 hours total travelling time with no sleep. Not too bad you might think, but try doing it with a 22-month old that does not want to sit on the seat in the plane, or watch the tv screen, or sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time and then back at home decides that it's party-time at 3 o'clock this morning (her body is telling her it is 10a.m.). Oh have I had fun today with a very grouchy little girl to deal with!!! The less said about her mother the better! It must be bed-time soon!
Doing similar in 5 weeks .......... Back to the UK from Singapore in 5 weeks time........
Flying back to the UK is no problem as I get the overnighter , coming back the other way is a killer though!!!

It's devastating Every time we go to Flamborough, I have to visit The Viking, the Ship Inn and then the Dog & Duck just to recover!! (pint)
