    Very well

The only problems were communication with Kay and Colgan twice, but that's got to be expected at first...

Good in the air, strong tackler and has that bit of composure in his game too.

A solid debut, though perhaps not severely tested.

Yes, very promising I'd say. I really hope we can keep him for the season eventually, I'd be a lot more confident of staying up there in the table were he to stay.

He looked like a regular in that he constantly gave the ball away, in his case trying to hoof it down the right hand channel every time rather than play it wide for Tonge when it was the better ball. He may have been acting under orders of course which would excuse an otherwise worrying perception of his own passing abilities.

    RE: Very well

One incident in the 2nd half stands out when one of their forwards broke into area looking odds on tho score and Watts was just behind him, he showed great composure and positional sense to push the player wide until he could get in an excellent tackle.

Is he allowed to play in cup next week?

Probably Kay before the game, just before kick off and was talking to Watt and pointing to various areas of the pitch.

Probably saying "Now I **** up over there, Austin will **** up over there and you can **** up on that side"

OK, was not really tested as Walsall were the poorest team at Oakwell this season, playing only 1 up front.

His timing was out initially, got caught on the wrong side a couple of times, might have even let their attacker peel off at the throw in that led to the goal.

Talking to an old scout and he said why do we think that getting a youngster from premiership club means that he is better than the youngsters BFC gave got (Atkinson & Laight). He believes they are as good and in some respects technically better. Why not give them an opportunity, they must feel really naffed off.

Time will tell with Watt especially when he has to deal with a couple of physical centre forwards.

    Shame

Can't see Chelsea needing him for the cup - could be for if they wanted to sell in January

I thought he did very well.
What he had to do he made look easy.Thats the sign of a quality player.
For his first game with our micky mouse defence he did fine.

You lot are raving about Watt just because we signed him form Chelsea. He had a decent game but no more than that.
I can see potential in him but he mistimed his jumps for headers at least twice. Got pushed off the ball. Decent debut but not spectacular, although I do think he and Reid would be a good partnership.

As for a Mickey Mouse defence, we have the 2nd best defensive record in the league!! Please dont let facts get in the way.

That says more about the inadequecies of opposition strikers than it does our defence!

those same attackers are scoring more goals against other teams. Credit where credit's due.

If we can get Kell fit now to dictate midfield then we will have a real chance of top 2.
