Time and patience needed with some players. Wright is one imho. In time will be regarded as one of the best strikers ever signed.
(cue thick retarded voice) "burriz not scored yit hiz w@nk"

he looked distinctly unfit-he chased a long ball into the corner in the second half which went for a goal kick-he then turned and plodded slowly back gulping air in as if he was exhausted
didn't really trouble their defence and I don't think he had a shot
all in all 4 out of 10-let's hope he's better on Saturday-he did score for Blackpool at home against Colchester-but they still lost 2-1

Ran himself ragged for 70 minutes didnt really get a decent scoring chance. he needs a goal, desperately, lets hope he gets one soon cos he's a bit too similar to Richards for them to play together, so if he scores, he might stick a chance of staying in the team alongside Hayes. Hayes came on and made a massive difference. his first touch and close control is so much better than anyone else we have, anyone who thinks different knows nada. he almost chipped the keeper after mugging their defence, wouldve been goal of the season.
No Barnsley striker 'troubled' Tranmere's defence until Hayes came on.
However, every Barnsley player on Saturday worked hard to grind a result out. Credit to them all for that. And in Wright's defence he's not exactly had a run of first team games to get match fit.

RE: Ran himself ragged for 70 minutes Thanks for all that - didn't get to game on Sat.
Wright looked good when he played against Chesterfield early in the New year, should've had about 5 that day!
You would hope thgat he would be getting some semblance of fitness back by now.
It's gonna be tough on Saturday.
Hayes is class and should start every time for me as, he is, as you say, streets above all the other strikers and willl easily play in the Championship.
