How do I get an avatar

I've got an animated gif I'd like to use

If the animated gif is still on your computer, then
1) Go to www.imageshack.us
2) upload your picture there
3) copy the URL (web address, I think it says "direct link to your picture" or something)

You don't have to do that if the animated gif is already uploaded somewhere, of course.
After that click the "Control Panel" link (it's on the upright corner of this page), and copy the URL to the "Profile image URL" box. Click the "Submit" button. That's it.
