how do i make a JPEG file smaller?

    got a picture that is 34kb. however i need it to be less than 6k. any ideas?

    Make it smaller, and/or reduce the quality of the image.
    If you haven't got Photoshop or any other handy image processing program, you could try IrfanView, it's free.
