if we are talking purely about the board then for a start because they have created a club that is very cold towards its customers, they are seemingly doing little to attract new customers to oakwell and refuse to address certain issues that the few customers they have left have.
We also have staff at oakwell picking up a wage for doing basically nothing (no names mentioned) while other members of staff and departments are stretched to the limit.

RE: generally, managing of the club, making the right decisions etc Matchday pricing - poor, does nothing to encourage families/kids imho. This week with 3 home games a prime example Marketing - too soon to say Financial competency - too soon to say Matchday catering - no improvement Quality of clubshop merchandise - too soon to say Oakwell legends - excellent idea Everything on pitch is down to Ritchie & Holden. Whether the board are doing alright there only Ritchie and Holden can say. Owt else ?
Biggest decision the board ever makes is choosing the manager I think they got that decision absolutely spot on. I don't believe they went for the cheap option, I believe they went for someone they believed in. Top marks. As for many other issues, I've never felt as alienated from the club as I do now. For a start I can't afford to go to a lot of games and as a result the club have received less money from me this season than any other season in the last 15 years, as I've got out of the habit of spending all my spare cash at the club.
RE: if we are talking purely about the board i doubt that there are many people picking up a wage for doing nothing. i think you are probably refering to one person - theres a difference between a job being in existence for no reason and wasting resources and someone doing a job badly. I think the board have made a good appointment in andy ritchie and they are working in very difficult circumstances. the PR hasn't been great in some instances and was surprising but overall i think we are going in the right direction.
RE: generally, managing of the club, making the right decisions etc except it was the boards idea to keep richi, or to 'promote' him and to move holden in, so the board has impacted on the firled in that way, i rememebr all the flack they took for those choices, although it seems to be working out well. catering cant be improved in that way, if i rememebr right then the catering is subcontracted and cant do anythign until the end of the contract. finicial side of things, despite the pressure they have been under to splash the cash, they have been careful and i reckon, for the most bought, brought in quality players, we'll see what happens with kell.
Ticket prices are a disgrace we're doing nothing to attract new/old fans back. See Huddersfield Town for details
RE: the board - employed ritchie imho still too soon to say. I am greatly encouraged by Ritchie & Holden. Still not convinced they were first choice mind, but that's another debate.
RE: generally, managing of the club, making the right decisions etc see my response to Chef. Too soon to say either way.
The catering contract According to the notes of the supporter's club and society meeting of 11th January 2005, where Mr Shepherd and Mr Cryne were invited guests, the catering contract was due to run out in the summer of 2005, so something could have been done about it then.
agree wtih jay good choice in appoiting a manager. Rubbish at everything else. The ticket pricing is a discrace!!
RE: agree wtih jay The ticket prices are cheaper than other comparable clubs on a LIKE for LIKE basis. What dont you understand?
