    hard to compare really davy's defense had to soak up alot of pressure cos the midfield conceded so much territory and the forwards couldn't keep the ball.
    this defense aren't under as much pressure as we keep the ball for longer periods but seem to concede at oppositions whim, so either the opposing forward line are of better quality or our defense is crap. answers on a postcard please.

    We just don't give the opposition enough to worry about, even before a ball is kicked.

    With JOB, Butterfield, Vaz Te, Drinkwater, Perkins and Davies last year (pre January) the opposition had to do some serious homework on how to stop us playing.

    Looking at the team that gets put on to the pitch at moment, it won't scare many teams like that one did. And as much as people are criticising the defence, there's so much pressure on them because there's nobody really capable of any magic or inspiration in the last third of the pitch. This is what happened from January onwards last season, and it's happened again since the Birmingham game.

    looking at the squad then, we are probably stronger,although a few players are still at a reasonable level 6 or 7 years on,but we have no players now as good as Howard and Ferenczi.

    You've probably forgotten but he f****d his ankle in September of that 2nd season and carried on playing,when he returned to Hungary and signed for Ferencvaros he knocked in 47 goals in 53 games,plus a couple of international goals for Hungary.(earlier in his career!!)
