Normally he's fine but I (and people around me) found his comments very weird yesterday. As well as constantly calling it a 'penalty' I felt a bit sorry for Laura, the newly wed. It was kind of not funny when he made the joke about the guy loving football and not loving her (but fair enough 'banter' I guess) but then when he said 'do this for Laura... give it a good kicking haha' I thought it was a bit weird. I wondered if it was just me but then the woman next to me said that it really wasn't funny and sounded like he was making a domestic violence joke. I'm sure he never would and I'm not saying he would condone that at all, just that his comments weren't very well thought out yesterday.
sometimes ive watched the man of the match interviews on player and cringed, wonder if the players really want to be man of the match to suffer some of the interviews,we all say things that we think are funny and at times are not, must be a very hard job to do, everything at the match yesterday seemed very strange, just one of those days I hope
I probably am to be fair, I know there was nothing malicious about it and it was supposed to be funny, it just felt a bit uncomfortable at the time.
He's not as funny as he thinks he is. And he really does think he's funny... A chant for the groom of 'you don't know what you're doing..' would have worked though...
