Its a good walk, we usually get a cab. If you wanna drink in town (good for real ale pubs) then walk into town and leave yourselves 30 mins to walk to the ground after you've finished supping. If you go straight to layer road from the station there's a cab rank just outside which will probably be the best option.
the first time I went there I tried to walk from the station to the ground with no idea where it was and p*ssed up. Got to the town thought I had got lost having walked around for a while not realising I was only half way to the ground walked around some more and got to the game 20min after kick off having asked about 10 people most of them in Man Utd shirts with no idea there was a local football club
