Re: How is it that the result of a football match 1400 miles from where I am currentl afternoon and evening of that for me at least the wines decent here LOL
Re: How is it that the result of a football match 1400 miles from where I am currentl Normally I'd say at least you didn't have to watch it, but we were OK today. Plenty of effort, we created a number of chances and the only problems Birmingham caused us were from set-pieces. But that's the trouble with a Keith Hill team, there's so many things wrong with individual aspects of the team that even when we play well we still lose. Today we proved for the umpteenth time that we're hopeless at defending set-pieces and our inability to score goals is legendary. There's so many things wrong that I can't see a way out because it would take a massive amount of improvement in so many different areas. We're a chain with a dozen weak links. Even if we strengthen two or three of them there are half a dozen others that will let us down in one game or another.
Re: How is it that the result of a football match 1400 miles from where I am currentl JAY in your opinion do we need two nasty centre halfs or are the problems worse than that
Re: Red wine for me Still feeling pretty hung over from yesterday. The experimental beer did not go down particularly well, so I'm going to have to sulk sober!
We definitely need the centre halved but as Jsy days there are more problems and new Centre halved wouldn't improve the goals scored at home stayistics
Re: How is it that the result of a football match 1400 miles from where I am currentl Playing well and still losing most weeks is the most worrying thing. Not sure where we go from here. I don't think many are questioning the players' commitment, it just looks like we are not quite good enough. On another day we could have won easily by the sounds of things but people have said that about so many games this season that it has to be more than just bad luck. Would a managerial change solve things? I really don't know.
Re: How is it that the result of a football match 1400 miles from where I am currentl I don't know if we need two, but one would certainly help. I think Hassell, Foster and Cranie could all look good at the side of a dominant centre half, but I don't think that will suddenly fix things. A big nasty centre half would have been marking Zigic today, but it was Curtis Davies who scored both goals. Hassell and McNulty coped with Zigic very well all game. We've problems all over the pitch. Defending set pieces is one of them, but that's a problem with the whole team not just the central defenders. The shape of the team and the speed with which we attack means we don't create many chances and the lack of quality throughout the team means we don't convert many of the those we do create.
The only good thing for me To come out of today's game was receiving a Christmas card from the little girl who sits with us. She says I'm her favourite archaeologist, although I don't think it's a particularly long list! Thank you Amelia.
