Because they haven't improve much over the years, how can they allow such a pitch in the Champions Leauge.

    RE: QPR

That makes me feel old, I didn't think it was that far back. Man UTD making hard work on the pitch, it give the home side an advantage.

I think it was first used in the 82-83 season.

QPR had the pitch in 81/82 when they beat us 1-0 (Mick Flanaghan header), one of only five games played on the day due to the arctic conditions and one of the highlights games on MOTD.

I can recall going to Oldham, not sure what year but all you could see was the ball bouncing everywhere and it looked like Blackpool beach.

    Stevie Cooper, last minute header.

Jumped about 30feet when everyone else thought it was going high and wide.

Hope he's resting in peace, God bless him.

QPR had it when we played them in 1981/2

I was there, lost 1-0, goal definitely a result of the pitch. It was a downward header, Bobby Horn had it covered but it hit the pitch and the extra bounce took it over him into the roof of the net. The QPR players apprently practiced heading downwards and they scored loads of goals from it.

I was there too mate, one of only a handful of games ...

.... to go ahead (6?) in the entire football league 'cos of the heavy snow and we were put in the top tier 'cos they had shovelled all the snow into the bottom tier. It was the main match on Match of the Day, if I'm not mistaken.

I could be wrong but didn't QPR get to the FA Cup final that season and get promoted to the first division?? No advantage in them having that pitch then! The pitch was a joke, every ball bounced at least 6 foot in the air!

    No

When we played Preston on 27/10/2000 it was the first time in 25 years we had played them. They got rid of the plastic pitch in 1994.

that was the match when that downward header took off like a superball over bobby horns head ?
Seem to remember a " wee bit of bother " with some fans on the acton tube station - prior to drinking a old style sam smiths pub in shephards bush out of beer - those were the days.
I couldnt get down to forest on tues - working up north - what was your take on the game ALBATROS please

I thought they were better than us on the night .........

........ but when you get to the 92nd minute at 0-0 you deserve a point!

We were better second half, and created a few decent chances, but first half especially, too many of our players were below par, particularly in midfield

The plastic teams always had very good home records..

don't know how they ever were allowed.

Remember Coops equalising there for a 1-1 draw.

Think it was his debut, first game of the season.
