There won't be anywhere near the 2k or so they took last season.

    Difficult to say

Our main travelling supporters group "The RAMS" stopped running coaches last year because, despite complying with every draconian restriction imposed on them by the police, their methods became more and more Eastern Block in their approach.

Basically, the more we complied, the more restrictions were imposed as a result. People said "enough is enough".

We still get "bubble games" where you HAVE to travel with a voucher on a designated coach, but these coaches are organised by the football club. These are the Leeds, Millwall, West Ham, Brizzle City type of games but since we've complied they've increased them to Wolves, WBA, Brum and more. The ticket is then given to you en-route.

For "normal" games, instead of the RAMS liasing with the local police, telling them the time we're arriving, the pubs etc we'll be in etc, it was decided to travel by car, train, bus, bike (even an airship was arranged for Wolves last year!) to make the police earn their money.

Trouble is, this has vastly reduced our away support as these busses used to pick you up in your home town - and these could be 30+ miles from Cardiff with little or no transport links at the pick-up times. There'd regularly be 10-15 busses run by the RAMS including one from Colwyn Bay/Holyhead!

So, a long-winded answer to your original question but I'd guess at around 700.

    RE: I Remember........

Is that the Huddersfield incident when 7 coppers lost their jobs after it?

If so, I was amongst that lot and without going into detail on here, you haven't heard the last of it.

    Without wishing to sound disrespectful

Last season (1st game of season) was the only time I can remember Cardiff bringing more than a few hundred fans. I can't see what all the fuss is about - same with Millwall who don't eactly bring loads. I'm sure on their day Cardiff have a good following, but I'd be surprised to see more than 1,000 tomorrow.

Yeah that's the one. Local paper here was plastered with CCTV pictures of coppers hitting men, women and children without being provoked, just because of the reputation.

    RE: I Remember........

    Thought so.

We travelled up by coach to Manchester nice and early and stopped for a couple of beers. Told the driver to pick us up after the game outside the ground as we'd make our own way there.

Went by train accompanied by 2 transport police, sharing a laugh and a joke. We arrived to be greeted by dozens and dozens of robocops and mounted police who forced us into corners and proceeded to pile into us at every opportunity. You had no choice other than to defend yourself - trouble was that some of ours there could defend themselves too well for their liking.

Anyway, all this was captured on video and it was agreed that we were just defending orselves by the judge and several police lost their jobs.

Compensation claims were launched and recently lets just say further evidence has come to light - originally submitted but overlooked by the lawyers. VERY incriminating and a few more heads will roll.

Strange old force in Yorkshire. Nightmare at Huddersfield and Leeds, great at Rotherham and Barnsley. Even more bizarre is that they're fine at Sheff Wed and completely the opposite at Sheff Utd!
