8 games times season Throwing 18 points away http://stats.football365.co.uk/dom/ENG/D2/ptslost.html The above doesn't include today's game If we had held on to the lead today it would have been the first time since December 2003 that we have gone a goal behind and come back to win. Not having a go at anyone like, but there's summat missing in the team when such a sequence goes on that long.
What I cant understand is We are the 15th Worst team at holding on to a lead</p> We are the 23rd Worst at fighting back from going behind</p> How are we in 3rd place ?? </p>
go on then, i'll say it tactics, or a lack of them. When we concede we do not know how to change our tactics to turn things around and when we are a goal up we do not change our tactics to defend the league. In both cases we simply carry on and hope for the best and it has cost us dearly already this season more than once.
RE: What I cant understand is '23rd Worst at fighting back from going behind' means we are best doesnt it?</p>
so then we are 3rd... AND WE ARE ****. not right is it. well something is going right or we wouldn't be 3rd. FFS
Its weird... Cos I coulda sworn we were 1-0 down today and ended up 2-1 up. Ritchie's tactics of playing Nardiello to be direct against their struggling back four was excellent. He was let down by players standing off Trundle - do you really think he told them to do that?
and I am sure that richie told everyone to miss sitters in the first half too. if we had a gone in 3-0 up and then went on to win the game he would have been brilliant. but nooooooo. richie is crap, and we are. 3rd. THIRD. some people need to be rogered by gary glitter!
It could also be argued that is decision to keep shuker on the pitch cost us two points as he was the one that let trundle walk past him to score their goal.</p> Ritchie is a good coach and he normally gets the tactics right to start the game but I have always felt that he doesnt seem to have a plan B. If something changes during the game, an injury, sending off or goal (for either side) he generally appears to have basically no clue how to react. This is probably just down to him being relatively inexperienced and will hopefully be something that he improves on with time but at present it is costing us a lot of points. Can we afford to lose these points? Maybe we can as our position shows we are doing pretty well despite this problem.</p> My suggestion would be someone a little more experienced sat on the bench with him, an assistant manager or something.</p>
RE: Missed chances and Poor defending Thats what cost us today nothing to do with tactics and nothing Ritchie could have done any better.
RE: Missed chances and Poor defending backing off trundle who is slow then letting him get onto his left foot which is the only one he can shoot with didnt help.
