    Not confident enough on crosses

we need a keeper who can dominate his box.

I played on FIFA 2007 yesterday and was looking at the team line up and squad. Hardly any of those are with us now.

What about Togwell? Lad ran his blood to water for us last season without a break.

RE: Not confident enough on crosses

Colgan is the best keeper Barnsley have had for many years, yet you all slag him off!!!

The man has saved us on numerous occasions , yet because he doesnt come charging out like Bruce Grobbelar , you hate him. In the Championship there are NO keepers that are better, some may come for more crosses, butthat doesnt make them better keepers.
The coach we have now was not that hot on crosses either.
What we do need is a commanding Centre half and Captain, we need the fullbacks to defend against wingers and the midfield to stop the opposition getting down the flanks. to put all the blame on Colgan is utterly stupid and if Davey thinks that bringing a keeper from Norway is a good move, I suspect he will be proven wrong, but he will stick with him until its nearly too late, as he did last year with the players he brought in then.

You are entitled to your opinion

and Colgan is a good shot stopper but I think on balance his failure to command his area and general indecision tip the balance against him.

I'm pretty sure there are better keepers in this division and I'm sure there are worse.

I think that if you think bringing in a keeper who is reputed to be the best in Norway (despite the fact that you have not seen him) is a bad move then I think you would be in a very small minority indeed.

Colgan needs serious competition for a start and that is something we have not had for 2 seasons.

I agree that we need another keeper, but to say that Colgan is a bad keeper is ridiculous.

The Keeper from Norway may be the best in the Country , if so then why has he played so few games in Germany and at a lower level, plus why did he end up in Norway? And YOU have not seen him(unless you count Youtube) either so my point of view is as valid as yours(unless you count Youtube)

I have never said I had seen him

but I have seen Colgan and am well aware of his weaknesses, I never said he was a bad keeper nor did I say you opinion was invalid.

If we are to improve our defence then the keeper plays no insignificant role especially in dealing with crosses and we must strive to improve this area of our game no matter what direction it takes in the choice of keeper.

On Muller I merely quote what radio dee dar reported that he was "the best keeper in Norway"

If we do sign him as seems increasingly likely then I for one am prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.
