Davey would be releasing players if he hadn't some idea of who he was bringing in? I for one don't see him as being totally naive!

He's switched on enough to know we are down to the bare bones now.

He may have to get some out to bring some in.

Apart from ability its a matter of balancing the books

Its also the wage bill and the transfer fees they need to be balanced. Any new signings, and I am sure there are some coming in, must be budgeted for with getting fees for players going and taking them off the payroll.

    wage bill for me..

gets rid of 3 of the top earners who arent getting a game... releases funds for new players even on loan and possibly a transfer fee maybe if we get saome cash for the players who are on there way

Why do we need a left back?

We've got Kozluk and Van Homoet can cover there too, I wouldn't say it's a massive priority.

    I would

Van Homoet may be a good player, I dunno yet, but he's not a very good left back. He can't overlap, because he has no left foot, and he constantly comes inside and turns into trouble when on the ball, again, because he has no left foot. A left footed left back is a priority in my opinion, second only to signing De Silva.

its a rare thing but I absolutely agree with that Jay

shouldn't be having to put up with a right back playing at left back, if we can afford 5 strikers I'm sure we can afford a left footed left back.
