How many times will the FA and referee's let Rooney get off with murder?

Before I start this rant let me say that I think Rooney is a fantastic player and is key to England getting any success in the near future ....that is if he can stay on the pitch for us in European and World Cup matches.

Before the World cup started and everyone was talking about Rooney winning it for England I came on this BBS and stated that Rooney could be the opposite with his temprement and attitude when things are not going his way. Unfortunitely when he loses it in the premiership he gets away with murder from our referee's however when treated as any other player from non English referee's he gets exactly what he deserves.

Remember the petulence and abusive attitude against Graham Poll when Man Utd played Arsenal .... He could have walked 4 times in the 1 game alone but Poll let him off time and time again!

Remember the petulent clap to Anders Frisk when Man Utd were in Europe .....He walked and almost lost the game for Man Utd

Remember the petulent stamp against Portugal because the game wasn't going his way ....The referee correctly sent him off and England went out!

Just watched the Man Utd game against Boro and twice he grabbed an opponent around the neck and got involved in petulent confrontations whilst the referee was watching only 5 yards away ..... He was on a yellow card already and twice he should have recei ed a 2nd yellow and walked!

I guarentee that unless some English ref's stands up to him as a player and stop treating him differently because of his status in the game he will once again become detrimental to Man Utd's and England's chances in Europe!

ps. I'd still have him in the Barnsley side though

Same was happening with Beckham before 1998 World Cup.

He used to get away with having a sly dig after he'd been fouled, what happened against Argentina? He get's sent off for doing what he'd got away with over here.</p>

Shearer too, always pushing in the area and getting away with it, Campbells 'goal' in same match get's disallowed cos of Shearer and we are out of the World Cup.</p>
