There seems to be a view that we've made a big profit on him but I'm not sure that's the case - which is one of the reasons I'm upset about it. With local knowledge (I live near W-ton) I know that Wolves have been cutting costs big time this year. If you look at the signings McCarthy has made none of em are for big money. They let several of the big wage earners leave before the start of this season and most recently Jack Hayward has publicly announced (again) his desire to sell the club - he's so desperate (apparently it's draining his resources) that he's halved the asking price from £40m to £20m. I find it hard to believe that we've got a really big fee for him - more likely in my view we've made maybe £50k or at a stretch £100k. If the comments coming out of the club that there's money to spend are true why would we sell arguably our best player for such a profit when we're desperate for every point we can get. Our form needs to improve now. By the time the transfer window opens the task could be too big. I'm not saying it WILL be but it's just strange to gamble by selling your best player! Would you do it?
he's a wanted man! if we paid £125k for him and surely we must double that at least He's a wanted man, players in demand do go for peanuts...... intrest from Leeds, Wolves and other championship/premiership clubs! No offence to Flinders but we sold a kid, lots of potential but little experience for £350k with add ons that could see fee rise to 1m... good business if you ask me! slack as the board sometimes are I can't see him going for less than £500k myself, hopefully more.
