think it was 50p to stand in ponty, 60p in the brewery, too young for a pint then, so wouldn't know.

I was earning about £7/8 k then. Now on £23k. Haven't really progressed careerwise.

So my current wage is 3.3 times 87/8 so a ticket should be the same? that would be 3.3x 4.50 = £14.85 ~ £15 which is what it should be anyway.......

That's all very well, but not everyone's salary has grown as much as yours over the last 20 years. It would be interesting to see what the ticket price would be using inflation rates to compare

I was trying to make the case for cheaper tickets even allowing for inflation.

I have switched jobs butI'm notin a managerial position, still a rubbing rag.

Yes I know, I wasn't having a go. The analsis you provided was just using your own circumstances, I'm sure that if I worked mine out tickets would be even cheaper. Using inflation rates I bet they would be cheaper still.

In 1977 I think it was 23p for Sams in the Edmunds...

... and 30p for pie and peas... Saturday grub.

Mind you Sams is still only about £1.30 a pint !!(pint)
