I'm all for attacking, but this is one day stuff. Surely we need a Boycott/Thorpe like character to drop anchor at one end while Pieterson carrys on the attack. We've played well, but the number of cheap wickets given away today (and at Lords) through rash strokes has been astonishing. It's great entertainment, but the match will be over in 3 days.

Now Peiterson has thrown his wicket away....owt under 400 on this pitch is a failure.

not a failure, quite a few positives again, another good opening stand, freddy and pietersen good knocks, giles with an handy 20 odd, and if last couple get 20 odd i think its a good score, dont forget we lost the toss!

Yes, but no one has gone on and got a big one. I worry that Ponting or Gilchrist could go on to make big hundreds on this pitch. We'll see.

not like the good old days...

scoring at 2 or 3 an over, 2 days lost through rain and STILL beaten with a day to spare.

    Great days.

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

The worrying thing is that only one, possibly two have got out to good deliveries. The rest have thrown their wickets away. Great entertainment, but could be costly.

will no doubt give us a masterclass tomorrow on how to bat aggressively and still make a ton.

Its a shame Michael Vaughan can't seem to find his form. He is the type of player who can build a steady and stable innings (when on form).
