RE: Bit puzzling that I think the feeling probably was that his sport gave him a disproportionate number of opportunities to get those golds.
Phelps broke records too. Im not knocking Bolt he is an amazing athlete. Its just to win 8 golds in different events over different distances.... Make him something that will probably not be repeated for a very long time!!!
Bolts acheivments are fantastic, but come one, think about it, Phelps, became the most successful Olympion (SP) of all time, so based on this i think that he deserved it/
He won plenty of golds, but so did Ian Thorpe a few years ago. Swimming have too many different types of races, that are only slightly different from eachother.
Swimming races are not just slightly different. Why do you always give opinions on things you don't know anything about?
Can you swim?
Can you swim all 4 strokes?

Would I do that? Bolt, and other Jamaican medal winners, have turned down lucrative scholarships worth '000s of dollars to train at US universities which have the best training conditions in the world. Instead they now choose to remain in Jamaica with makeshift facilities. Why?
I'm sorry but it's only you who only gives opinions on what you know yeah. You should teach us all how to post more like you.
2 of my kids swim competitively. That's what I base my opinion on.
What do you base yours on?

RE: 2 of my kids swim competitively. So you base your opinion on watching other people swim - just like Dreamboy does.
Gosh you're right. Why should watching swimming 4 or 5 times a week, going to galas, talking to coaches give me any more knowledge than Dimboy, who bases his experience on beingwet.
Laughing So you don't actually swim competitively yourself then ? You just watch other people do it ?
