    was he actually has close to goal as he looked. I sit in the Family stand and it looked like it was impossible to miss.

    This is how it looked to me:
    He was flying in with lots of momentum. If he'd got underneath it he'd have skied it. He did the right thing and tried to get over it and keep it down but got such a good contact it drilled into the ground and bounced over. If he'd scuffed it, it would have flown in!

    He couldn't miss from there again if he tried a thousand times. It seemed impossible to miss but somehow he managed it.
