    It's because we regularly beat teams like Andorra and luxembourg. Struggling to remember a good England performance other that win v a half arsed Spain.

    I agree that the rankings are not the best guide, but where should England be ranked? Who are better than us?

    I'll start

    Spain, Netherlands, Germany for sure. Then if you look at the rest of the FIFA top 10 you could you make a case for Italy, Portugal, Brazil, Uruguay, Croatia, Denmark? 11th Argentina have been really struggling...Are France are on the up? Not according to the rankings. Uruguay won the Copa America by not conceding (a bit like Greece won the Euros).

    I personally think the top three are way ahead and the rest are much of a muchness. Brazil often turn up in tournaments, but France and Italy have flattered to deceive (just like us) recently.
