    Electric cars could be given priority at traffic lights and exempted from one-way systems, under new proposals.? Sounds like another fking stupid idea to me not to mention an argument waiting to happen!

    Why not give them flashing lights and a siren too?

    How would the traffic light system even work? And surely a lot of one ways are for when it's not safe for two cars to pass? I think someone's been having you on!

    It reminds me of the Irish plan to swap over to driving on the right like the rest of Europe.

    Since it would be too complicated to just swap over all traffic at the same time, they decided to do it in stages. For the first month, cars would change over to the right, all other traffic would stay on the left. Once they'd got the hang of that, lorries and vans would swap over for the next month. Then a month later buses and coaches, then motorcycles and bikes. Eventually all traffice would be driving on the right, without the confusion of trying to change it all at once.
