this implies that they would like more Barnsley fans cheering the team on-and obviously paying the money-how does that square with the club's agreement to move the Cup game to Friday-no thought of the fans there-just that the playersmight need 12 hours more rest to play Chelsea-sorry I meant Colchester -one from the bottom of the league-at home where we have such a poor record

think again-withdraw the agreement and play on the Saturday

A question: If the game was on Saturday, as previously announced, would you go?

    Yes

Still not decided about Friday but much harder to get there in time - I'd need to take time of work and drive round the M25/A13 at the worst possible time - Friday night!

Question: Would you rather Barnsley had an extra days rest for the more important Colchester game (it could be a relegation 6 pointer by then) and thus increase the chances of picking up 3 points? Or would you prefer Barnsley to decrease their chances of winning the Colchester game just so that you could have a weekend away?

Can't see what all the fuss is myself and this really does seems a no brainer.

Oh yes - an added benefit is that the extra games rest might help Southend beat leeds on the Monday. Now that can't be bad, surely?

    RE: No nt

Howard asked for more support at Oakwell, the cup game is away.

As for people implying that the home match against colchester is a home banker and the players shouldn't need an extra days rest......are you mad??

I hope the players don't have that attitude going into the game or they WILL lose.

I'm quite happy to miss the F.A Cup game if it means 3 more league points.

they havent got an extra day's rest have they?

game finishing at around 10pm plus the 4 or 5 hour journey back home on a coach means they wont be home till the early hours of the morning. 3am at a guess? maybe later?
So their sleep is disrupted for saturday anyway which i believe a few players complained about after a long distance match last season didnt they?

unless of course they stay in a hotel friday night in which case they get back home and are able to rest saturday afternoon instead of saturday night.

From 9:35 pm (when Southend game will finish), to 4:55 pm the next day when it would have finished on a saturday, does not give them an extra days rest. If anything getting home MUCH later in the evening will have more of an affect on the players than a saturday game would.

Do we get half the gate in the FA Cup?

So not only are we upsetting the fans but we're also losing out on some extra cash?

The decisions BFC make at times it's just like pissing in a wet bed!

where did I say anything about Oakwell-I was simply pointing out that if they want fans to support them they should think of the fans when making decisions like this

45% Each And 10% To The FA

I read it when the national papers said Liverpool would not give Luton Town the 100,000 they would make from the 45% cut from the cup.

RE: 45% Each And 10% To The FA

Point taken about arriving back home in the early hours of sat morning, but that still gives them saturday and sunday to recover from a potential lack of sleep. Instead of the game being on saturday and them only having sunday to recover from being kicked around the pitch by southend.

What would annoy me is if they go to all this trouble of moving the game and then play a weakened side....

Could you imagine the uproar if they played anything but full strength.
