On a par as the worst bit of business in my lifetime ..... along with the following David Hirst to Wednesday £250k Larry May to Wednesday £200k David Speedie - given away for nowt Phil Gridelet - paying actual money for him, thought to be incredously, £150k! Could get a nice house for that. any more??
Kim Christensen - £250k Miguel Mossto - £400k If those figures are correct. Even if they were halved, they're still a complete waste of f'kin money. I mean, you could buy 4 Phil Gridelets for that.
To be fair to them both - have/were they been given a fair chance? Still reckon Christenson would have been a good player

David Hirst to Wednesday £250k was big money for an kid at the time.
Larry May to Wednesday £200k again it was a fair sum then.
David Speedie - Didn't show much in a reds shirt apart from being a trier with a temperament problem.
Phil Gridelet - Was highly rated when he came and had it not been for serious injury could have been a very good player for the reds.
Howard 600k on his post Wembley form is over priced. Lets wait and see what develops tomorrow.
Before I forget, don't believe what you read about transfer fees. An ex-Chairman told a referee friend of mine that one player who was reported to have gone for X amount of £ was actually transfered for double the reported fee.

oh im not doubting that mate the best player in the world would be a waste of money if you decide to stick him in the reserves.
Hirst was a massive give away we should have held on another season and the fee would have gone through the roof. Piggies knew we were skint and we hardly put up any resistance
RE: Hirst was a massive give away i read that as "Hirsty is a massive gay" I think its time to go to bed..
How much did we let John Beresford go for? He was our best player that season and we let him go to Portsmouth on transfer deadline day when both clubs were challenging for promotion
