    Both.

I would presonally like to see Howard and McPhail alongside each other in midfield with Burns and Shuker.

I know it's a different combinaion but I think it's one would definitely work.

How exactly do you see it working? None of them want to play wide left and anyway we would be back to playing with ten men again.

McPhail, Burns and Shuker have played together many times

Rarely has it produced much. Can't see how putting Howard out on the left, who doesn't want to play there or McPhail on the left, who can't play there, is going to improve things much.

It shouldn't really matter where anyone WANTS to play. In the end it's a team that gets the results. Howard's favoured position is inside left but he can play wide left if needed and he doesn't have a problem filling that role (this is all based on the full fitness of both players btw). McPhail could play inside Howard.

Well up to now, McPhail hasn't "played" inside anybody. What makes you think it would be any different with Howard out there?

But if Howard is a better player in the centre

Why sacrifice his strengths to accommodate a player who, a couple of games apart, has yet to live up to his potential and in actual fact has been anonymous in many games?

Bit too early to judge though really, Howard has only played one game. Let's hope he continues to improve.

Any chance you could post your replies in response to the message you're actually replying to in future? I'm not having a go, but sometimes it's difficult to follow conversations with you.
