Yep Reidy you can stop reading now before your teddy comes flying out the cot again as it did in yesdi's programme.

In the 1st 15 mins yesdi Bri talked to the players more & took charge organising them for set plays etc more than i've seen Ridy ever do in a match. I cant comment on his skills behind the scenes, in the dressing room, on the training pitch etc. That may be where his strength lays.

But for me I like a captain to take hold of his team on the pitch during a game. Ideal both in an inspirational sense, as Bri did yesdi covering every blade of grass for the cause and in an organisational sense by talking to the players and giving clear orders and jobs to do. Making sure the gaffers game plan is carried out on the pitch.

Managers cant do much once they put the players on the field but having a captain who carries thru the game plan communicating with the team clearly is an advantage. I know Reidy is Davey's 1st choice but for me his leadership on the field isnt as strong as Bri's.

    Simple answer for me

Reid can be Club Captain, Howie can do the on-pitch job. It happens at a lot of clubs, particularly when there is a veteran at a club who doesn't play all the time.

Howard Should Be Captain Full Time..........

and at this rate he is going to get the championship player of the month award. I think being the captain will help his game more than hinder it. The extra responsibility motivates him more.

AJ would be a good leader too

but he seems to do it without the armband. Having him and Howard in the middle of the pitch can only be good for the organisation of the team.

I was going to say that

he would fulfill your previous suggestion very well. I've been impressed with his leadership in every game I've seen him play.

Reids comments about 5 different managers have made him captain since he was 21 is valid. I dont believe we see it on the pitch tho. His comments in yesdi's prog were ill advised imho. If the fans, ie the people without whom you wouldnt get paid, the customers, are giving constructive critisism then it behoves a good captain to listen, not alienate them even more.

Only my thoughts but may make him a target from the 'Reid is ****' meatheads who's comments on him are abusive, ill thought out and without foundation. This may not be the weekend for him to go out in tarn for a pint

    RE: Simple answer for me

Why? How often will Johnson get through a full 90 minutes?

Lust beats any knowledge of football

Prime example of why women really shouldn't try and talk about football. Bless.

So booing when his name is announced is termed "constructive criticism" is it?

Read all of the post FFS

'Only my thoughts but may make him a target from the 'Reid is ****' meatheads who's comments on him are abusive, ill thought out and without foundation. This may not be the weekend for him to go out in tarn for a pint'

Was that bit too difficult to comprehend?

My opinion of the boo boys made clear there I think... but obviously not to some (doh)

I thought Fozzy was taking a big part in organising the defence Saturday... not bad for his 2nd day at the club.
