BARNSLEY new boy Brian Howard will finally make his long-awaited Reds debut this evening when the reserves travel to Walsall.

Reds boss Andy Ritchie revealed: "Brian Howard is fine and he will make his debut in the reserves tonight. He has a little soreness in his groins from overuse since he has come back but he will be involved. We want him to get through as much as possible this evening although he will not play the 90 minutes.

"There is no chance of him being involved with the first team this week and he needs a couple of games first. I would not risk putting him on the bench in a situation where he could be required to play after a minute".
