His free kicks curling in from the right hand side were hard to defend against, I'm sure the last I remember were Stan getting on the end of one.

Remember a Howard free-kick getting whipped in and Ferenczi headed home, to put us 2-0 up against Blackpool? Went 4th that night if I remember correctly.

I thought of McCann as I pressed Submit, Werling's free kick's were just Hard and direct.

What was the full back called around the season we went upto the Prem that hit the like a rocket?

    Neil Thompson?

I remember him scoring against Stoke in the promotion season, although not a free kick. What a goal that was!

Not sure if it's him you mean but what a player!

    The BEST free kicks

were when Gordon Owen used to take them. He had 2 players shielding the ball, with their backs to goal, who moved sideways just as he ran up, giving the keeper no visability until the last second. Scored a few like that - hard and low. Can't understand why teams don't try that these days.

    Steve Agnew was another

And, of course, the one and only Ian Banks.
