Am I missing something here? In my view he has been in Barnsley top 3 players for the last 2 seasons without doubt. Always gave 100% whenever ive watched him. But because he hasn't been on fire for the first 4 games of this season suddenly we hate him? Theres sumart wrong with some folk on here! Some morons are also saying leon is better....I dont know where to start with that one! Howard has been restricted to playing deeper this season with Leon due to the fact Leon cant/wont tackle or head a ball.

    He's not done bad.

    4 league games
    1 goal
    1 assist

I'd take that ratio for the remainder of the season.

    Couldn't agree more mate

The treatment of Howard on this board is absolutely ridiculous.

    Leon couldn't lace Howard's boots.

Spot on pal, but he likes a pint .....

....... and would quite like a better wage, so that makes him **** ....... unlike Odejayi who trys really hard in training and is never seen in a boozer, so that makes him ok ... I despair at times, I really do

I like players who like a pint but still produce the goods. Reminds me of the good old days... tight shorts, tashes, muddy knees and heavy balls

Odejayi was out with his bird on Saturday night...

I think a lot of people don't like the fact that they pay lots of hard earned money to watch the team they love. Then see the likes of Howard, absolutely blotto in Escapade at 2am in the morning when the team has just lost away at Birmingham.

    I sure didn't.

If I was a professional football player, and I'd just lost my 3rd game on the bounce - I'd be highly frustrated, and would want to get on the field as quickly as possible and rectify things. Not 'knock' 12 pints back that very same night, whilst bouncing around the dance floor...

Anyways. He is a good player, and at times, a great player - he just needs to show the fans that he does care about the club, and do a little less of the drinking.

    What's their lass like ?

Could redeem him with some Tarn fans if she's tidy.

    And another thing...

why all the transfer speculation still?? He's said he's at Barnsley now and he's feels that all the speculation is finally over and its at the back of his mind and he can get on with playing for BFC (Front page Barnsley Weekly). But still on here we are now talking about him being loaned to the red and white pigs of Sheffield, FFS give it a rest.

Howard is without doubt a top player for us and i'm glad we've still got him, but I think it's wrong to say that Leon isnt fit to lace his boots when you look at the games played so far this season. The Derby game aside (when Leon had a stinker - but the defence appeared to be desperate to miss midfield out at all costs) I think Leon has been the better of the 2. I like Howard, I like his workrate and his goals, but I still think that even with quality strikers up front we wouldnt score enough goals because if Howard is our creating midfielder I don't think he creates (through balls etc) enough chances for the strikers. Fair enough, one assist already and i'll stand corrected if the opta stats showed he laid on 20 goals last season - but thats the way I see it. How many chances do our strikers get to miss? I dont think there are many and thats not all Howards fault - but I think we would see more with Leon alongside Anderson than Howard with him.

    He's a young man, who has Sunday's off ..............

......... why shouldn't he go out on a Saturday night and enjoy himself, as long as he's back on the training pitch Monday morning - he can't be held responsible for all Barnsley FC's results, if he's given his best that's all you can ask - there's too many on here quick to slag 'em off for going out and having a drink - funny how nowt were said about Howard (and the rest of 'em) being out on the lash the same night we beat Chelsea.

Good job George Best didn't play for Barnsley, he just wouldn't have been made welcome with him liking a drink or ten and the odd night out!

What does Leon actually do apart from a few fancy tricks?
I'll say it once again. He cannot shoot, cannot tackle, is ridiculously lightweight and has about as much pace as Darren Moore.
Apart from the free kick at Preston when has he ever looked like scoring a goal?
I'm sorry but if we were to let Howard go and deem Leon to be his replacement we'd be fecked.

I've never read so much sanctimonious, detached from reality ***** that gets put up on here about players, where they go, what they do. Why any fcker would want to play for us sometimes beggars belief.
