Possibly the worst refereeing decision ever? Having said that, he should have given the foul before the goal was scored, but to give offside? Madness
Re: Possibly the worst refereeing decision ever? IMO I hope Spurs go out, why try a nut off to qualify for Europa league places over 38 games and the devalue it the following season by playing the youngsters? Villa where the same a couple of years ago, if you don't want to risk players in Europe you should state that you do not wish to take part in the competition
If he's given a foul under his assistants guidance then fair do's, however he seems to be signalling for an offside on Defoe, despite the lino not giving anything, and rightfully so cos there was a player on the line. Very strange.
Re: Possibly the worst refereeing decision ever? Agreed. I also wish we could go back to the European Cup, Cup Winners Cup and UEFA Cup and all as knock out competitions. But as it's all about money, I've got f**k all hope of it coming true.
After seeing it again a few times, you can see they got it spot on. it's just when it happened, nobody seemed to know what was going off, the extra official did his job.
Re: Possibly the worst refereeing decision ever? And the champions of each country to be in it, not having to pre-qualify while the 3rd place club in some countries qualify automatically. Football used to be about the football.
Clear free-kick foul on the defender, missed by the ref but spotted by the 5th official. Right decision in the end just took an age to reach it.
