And to think some of their fans thought they could win the league haha. Also brilliant display frombthe lads today it was certainly entertaining.
They won't be a million miles away from the play offs. They're having a bad spell but they're a good side. They'll spend money in Jan and make sure they're still chasing. Think they'll finish above us but only a few positions.
I said a couple of weeks back I think they could end up in relegation bother. They seem to be in free fall. Remind me of Hull when they were top 6 in the prem in November & ended up staying up on the last day
I think we will finish above huddersfield. Brentford also in free fall too not long ago they was in play offs had a hammering yesturday too.
They never spend big money. On the day the Huddersfield Examiner did a huge backstage spread mentioning their new 1.8 million record signing defender they did an article of a few lines mentioning Joel Lynch to QPR for 1.5 million so even with a record buy Dean Hoyle only had to put up a 300k shortfall which would have been more than covered by the Adam Clayton promotion clause for Middlesborough. If it wasn't for the cheap season tickets more of their fans would be asking where the money has gone and especially if the owner was a foreigner like Celino and not a life long fan. Selling Jordan Rhodes and then his sell on clause probably made them around 13 million and that's just one of many very good pieces of business during the past few years with Joel Lynch, Adam Clayton, Alex Smithies, Oliver Norwood etc. They started the season well with enthusiasm. But a few months down the line the inevitable happened where other clubs finally knew how to scout all these guys new to English football. They aren't used to so many midweek games or the standard of play. Their player of the season Mooy doesn't even belong to them. The defence has been so shakey lately they gave Cranie his first league start after only three sub appearances.
They're trying to play Barcelona style football which can work for a while but when the weather turns and pitches get heavier that style becomes harder to master especially with championship footballers .
