thanks for that reply. Had some good times in central and S. America. Coincidentally, got a call from an old ship mate who now lives in weston-super- mare.
We remeniced(sp) about a particular trip to Canada and the States. On that occasion we were at the point where the Titanic went down. We received an S.O.S. from another merchant ship called the Ambassador. She was registered in Newcastle. Anyway, we were all in a force ten and up to 80 feet waves. Dead scary mate. The ambassador took on water and capsised in icey seas. She had a crew of 39 and all but 15 perished. On that unfortunate day we, The Baskerville' whose engines were full steam ahead reversed unintentionally 9 nautical miles due to strong headwinds. Many trips to talk about buddy and perhaps we might meet up on some occasion have a pint or two or three and exchange notes. How did you find the Brazillian girls,or is that an innapropriate question. Sorry if it was. Prefere the Kiwi's and Argentinian ones myself but the Fins , Swedes , Danes and Russions were on fire. Catch up with ya sometime.
