Never done Huddersfield away on the train before but considering it for this time round. Has anyone done it before? I take it the Barnsley-Huddersfield slow stopper train gets packed out? Not sure whether to get on at Dodworth in case the train fills up at Barnsley and there's no room to get on...

I've done it a couple of times. Does get busy. From memory doesn't it stop at Dodworth after Barnsley?

Yes, first stop after Barnsley. Not sure whether to go into town and get on at Barnsley if it does fill up because that train also stops at Elsecar and Wombwell before Barnsley/Dodworth/Silkstone Common/Penistone etc...

Last season was probably a bit different, as we took more fans there than usual, but I only managed to get on the train at Penistone because a few people got off. There were people who didn't manage to get on at Penistone and from Denby Dale onwards I don't think anybody managed to get on. There was even an extra train on that didn't stop between Barnsley and. Huddersfield. Difficult to say how busy it will be this season, but if I was going to go I would probably either go early or go into Barnsley to get the train to be on the safe side.

Depends on when you want to arrive in Huddersfield. If you fancy a session, an 11ish train shouldn't be too busy. Looking to get there nearer to kick off, the trains at 1ish will be packed.

I'd get on it as soon as possible I get on at Sheffield and it's usually fullish by the time it gets to Barnsley.
