Alan smith was assaulted in the pitch invasion by a group of fans who physically attacked him. No place for it, it's just a game when all's said and done.
From what I got told he was pushed over and called a naughty word. Technically assault but not like someone lamped him or kicked him etc.
According to Look North this morning That's exactly what happened to him and they also claimed he was spat upon. I've never liked Alan Smith, but that simply shouldn't happen. Horrible club, horrible fans as far as I'm concerned.
