According to Radio Sheffield. Been running a coffee shop for the last few years too aparently. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Just goes to show, spending all your time in coffee shops and MacDonalds gets you nowhere in the modern game. Good luck Hugo Colace and Dale Jennings in your future careers.
hes still here though isn't he, thought he was being given more time to get fit, have we sent him back ??
Lol . Love it ! He is fit... A lot fitter than a lot of the current squad. He's been training constantly for a while now. He hasn't been inactive in football and just running a Coffee shop like some think. Yeah he owns a Coffee shop which he helps out with when not footballing. He's been a regular at Olimpo in Argentina ... Yeah he's not been playing much but still training and playing reserve football over there. That comment on the radio from Lee Johnson was after Saturday's game and they are still watching him train. We will see !
I find it sad how negative and cynical some people can be. While his departure may have not been handled particularly well, it's the definition of schadenfreude to want him to fail now.
Sorry, I missed what was said. Is he going to continue training with Barnsley until he's fit enough for Johnson to make a decision or have they told him definitively he's not wanted?
I speak to Hugo daily and if any news comes about I will you guys know. He says he's buzzing at being at Barnsley training and feeling really good fitness wise. Says he's going to carry on giving it his all.
When does his trial finish? I hope for Hugo it's just Radio Sheffield's usual low standard of journalism.
It was Andy Giddings during football heaven last night. One of the texts asked for an update on Hugo, and Andy just said, he's simply not fit enough, he's spent a few years out of the game running a coffee shop. Didn't say that his trial has ended but it sounded like we were going to have a long hard look at him before deciding. Of course others may tell you different, I'm merely just stating what was said on dee dah FM last night. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
That's not what Lee Johnson says. "Adam Hammill looks at a stage obviously where he's a lot fitter than Hugo. But Hugo is probably going to need a serious amount of time to be judged." There's what we would call fit, who might go to the gym a couple of times a week or out for a run, and there's professional football fit. I'm sure Colace is at a level of fitness way above the vast majority of us, but it's clear from what the manager says that he's a long way short of what is required to be in contention for selection in the team.
Well I guess that means Johnson has to decide whether his fitness levels are worth holding out for. It's not costing the club anything, but whether they want him about for a while longer is another matter. Being a sentimental sort I hope so
Are we supposed to trust this guys judgement on players though ? I mean, this is the same guy that reckons Connor Wilkinson is a great asset ?
