Deffo not be resigning for the Reds. Mansford doesn't want him to have a trial. This is from Hugo himself via a twitter PM.

Personally I thought he would have been an ok signing, deffo worth a short trial.

I agree. Got an hard time off some of our fans but we've had alot worse play for us. Case in point last 2-3 seasons.

Surely it should be up to the manager and not the chief exec?!

The fact is if he's begging to come back he's struggling to find a club.

Colace could rip League One up if he were fit/interested.

I'd rather have Colace than plenty of other midfielders we've had since his departure.

What's it got to do with Mansford?

The moment a non footballing person has a say so at any club it's fooked when it comes to player/manager recruitment. I always find it strange that 'businessmen and owners' choose managers when they've no footy background.
I wonder of they'd let some footballers pick a new CEO or Managing Director for their business? Mmmmm think not

According to his radio interview at the weekend, Ben said Danny was talking to a number of players and their representatives this week. I would imagine Ben's asked Danny if he's interested in him (Colace) and received the reply of no. However, as it's de rigueur to attack anything and everything to do with the club, it'll be claimed by some Ben is now selecting our new players rather than the manager.

I'm reading between the lines, don't know what's been said. But if I was CEO, I would also want to completely distance myself from some crank on a Twitter mission to rejoin the Club. It's all very odd. Very much doubt Ben will be choosing players. He may sanction or not. But to me that's different
