I was already confused at why teams like Hull and Stoke are spending £5m on individual players, when they are very likely to get relegated and be saddled with players on whopping wages (did Bradford's plight not teach them anything?), but Hull City have now gone one better. They have signed someone for £5m, who has just had 15 months out due to an injury to his cruciate ligament. When they did the medical, they saw that he had a tear in the very same ligament, but went ahead and signed him anyway. Then, lo and behold, after 39 minutes of his debut...well, you can guess the rest! Still, Bullard must be laughing (not about the injury of course!), having moved from Fulham's 18 month contract onto a 4 and a half year contract with Hull, presumably on higher wages too.
he's on 25k a week at hull but given his injury past it wouldn't suprise me if there were clauses in the transfer/contract in case of serious injury
