Used to like this fixture. Back in the 80s we always seemed to win at Boothferry Park and lose to them at home. No doubt their younger fans will be all #teamslikebarnsley because they won't remember anything prior to the new stadium and increased gates, but just look at these stats http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/hulc.htm I'm putting them in room 101 with Wigan, Reading and Bournemouth.
I'll get it out of the way for them now: "We should be beating teams like Barnsley" "Their attendance isn't much lower than ours despite them being a town and us a City... Tin pot"
I'm unfortunate to know a number of Hull fans and most them have this attitude. They're not a proper football club. They've got a football ground you can put up and take down overnight, fans that will go back to supporting Leeds when they have a number of **** seasons and this plastic culture. Not a massive fan of them.
Studied in Hull got loads of mates who are old school Hull fans great bunch of lads and fully aware of where they are in the great scheme of things. They acknowledge some of the newer fans as ‘dickheads’ and hate them as much as anyone else does.
That's my view having lived amongst them for almost 30 years. They have some great older fans from the Boothferry days, but they are surrounded by plastics in the KCOM. The only thing they get excited about these days is attempts to oust the owners, who to be fair, are proper nut jobs.
