players like him we need to hold on to

would be disappointed if he went there

i can undersatnd if he went to a much bigger club but Hull didn't set the championship on fire last season and they spent a fair bit as well!

Correct, and he has no loyalty .........

..... he would have buggered off this time last season if anybody had come in for him ....... then when they didn't he 'loved it at Barnsley and couldn't wait to get started again' ........

He's no world beater in my opinion, Howard's just as good if not better and I would be happier with a hard tackling midfielder at the side of Howard than MacPhail

    LEAVE MCPHAIL

I am sick of all the waiting around from him. If he wanted to stay with us so much he would have signed by now. He is auctioning himself off like a prostitute to the highest bidder. He could have left last summer but NOBODY wanted him so that is the only reason he stayed for this summer (Shuker was in same situation). So if he isn't prepared to show some loyalty to us he can go. I want a team of Paul Reids at Barnsley because his attitude towards us and the love he's got for Barnsley is worth more to him then a paycheck. HURRY UP AND BUGGER OFF.

Relax and leave it to Ritchie

He's given 7 contracts. If the players want to leave let thme and he can go out and replace. If they want to stay then great but no-one in the current squad is irreplaceable.

We only want players who want to play for us.

mcphail only started to shine when Burns left

and he took over the holding role to allow Howard to bomb forward.

Probably the best passer of a ball I've seen at oakwell for many a year and his work rate improved tremendously, but he needs to improve his tackling and work rate even further if he is going to play the holding role next season. He also needs to be far more positive around the outside of the box, I can't remember the last time he had a long range shot.

    RE: LEAVE MCPHAIL

Foir God's sake it's only newspaper and bbs chatter. When we went to the premier I noted every player BBS were supposed to be after. If we'd signed them we'd have had a squad of in excess of 300.

    RE: LEAVE MCPHAIL

in all fairness if Leeds came in for reid now do you think he would leave? course he would becasue he has said he is settled in the area but he would be going to another commutable area, i.e same as mcphail would, anyone notice the majority of clubs been linked to him are from this area or near where he lives now!? Hull, Leeds, Sheff Wed?

If you could get another job more money without moving what would you do?

    RE: LEAVE MCPHAIL

Always had the sense that Mcphail thinks he is bigger than the club, would still be a shame to lose him and not as easy as some people seem to think to replace him.

    him and hayes

are our two best FOOTBALLING players, personally think he would be hard to replace, people seem to moan becasue all he does is keep it simply after shrugging off a couple of men and laying it off, sometimes wonder what fans expect?

    DON'T LEAVE MCPHAIL

Let's not have a go at someone who is probably away on holiday after a long season, and is thinking over things.

If he stays, and the financial side is acceptable with the club, then great.

If he goes, then fair enough, good luck. We will find someone to replace him, but maybe someone with differnet attributes i.e. a tough tackler.

As stated, I think most of us would mull things over if we were offered the same job, near by, but for more money.

    STAY!!!

It amazes me that people will be happy for him to leave.

If he goes then thats his call, but lets not help him with his decision and tell him to leave!!

hes the quality we will need in the championship to keep the ball, you get more time in this league and reckon we will see the best of mcphail this year

Agree with the pair of you. Barely noticed him last season and this season he's been terrible compared to Howard. Even after Christmas.
